Benefits of EmpoweredMum

For mothers
- Early delivery by caesarean section
This first of its kind benefit will see mothers receive 15% of the sum assured for caesarean delivery at less than 36 weeks of gestation. It must be deemed medically necessary by a treating doctor before proceeding. For example, if the doctor has deemed it necessary for the mother to undergo an emergency caesarean section delivery, the mother will be compensated with 15% of the sum assured.
- Pregnancy complications
As the pregnancy journey will be full of ups and downs, the mother will be insured fully (100%) if any of the 15 pregnancy complications covered by EmpoweredMum arises. It is worth mentioning that EVOL covers most pregnancy complications and the highest number of congenital abnormalities in the market.
- Hospital care
Once the baby is delivered, the mother is expected to stay over for convalescence at the hospital, in which she will receive 2% of the sum assured due to any of the 24 covered hospitalisation events for up to 30 days.
- Death benefit
In the unfortunate event of the mother’s passing during the process of giving birth due to severe bleeding, a beneficiary will receive 100% of the sum assured.
For newborns
- Congenital illnesses
If the baby is diagnosed with any of the covered congenital illnesses, the mother will receive 100% of the sum assured.
- Hospital care
If the baby is found to be needing extensive hospital care, the mother will receive 2% of the sum assured per day of hospitalisation due to any of the 17 covered hospitalisation events for the child, for up to 30 days.
- Developmental delay benefit
Mother shall receive 15% of the sum assured, which can be up to S$3,000 if the child is diagnosed with developmental delay in gross motor or speech development.
- Death benefit
In the event that the baby did not survive during or after delivery, 100% of the sum assured will be paid out.
